U.S. Olympic Committee Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Baird announced various opportunities for companies of all sizes to support the U.S. Olympic Movement through the purchase of Team USA digital assets.

“With the incredible growth of our digital reach between Vancouver and London, we are extremely excited to unveil these new digital assets, which will allow us to reach and inspire even more Americans ahead of and during the Sochi 2014 Winter Games,” Baird said.

“These new, creative opportunities will not only create an avenue for athletes to inspire Americans through year-round, compelling content, they will also allow for sponsor and advertiser integration on the Team USA digital network – which, in turn, supports the athletes.”

Virtual U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Pins

The first-ever Team USA interactive digital game — Team USA Pinsanity — will launch on Facebook on Oct. 29, 100 days from the first competition of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

This digital game will allow fans to collect and trade virtual U.S. Olympic and Paralympic pins that represent winter sports, athletes and achievements that occur in the lead-up to and during the Sochi Winter Games and beyond.

Fans will also be able to participate in virtual pin hunts, and daily giveaways, while at the same time connecting to the real-world happenings of the Sochi Winter Games by earning virtual rewards and points when Team USA medals.

Other digital assets announced by USOC include:

Behind-the-scenes Games content
Content will feature exclusive athlete footage throughout the Team USA Digital Network, including special moments from USA House in Sochi and collaborations with content creators outside the Olympic Movement. This behind-the-scenes content will be hosted by a non-competing Olympian.

Road to Sochi mobile and tablet app
The Road to Sochi app will complement NBC’s televised coverage of the Sochi Winter Games by incorporating everything fans want to know about Team USA athletes both on and off the field of play. One of the most unique features of this app is the ability for fans to intimately follow their favorite athletes through the “My Team USA” function, which aggregates information from a user’s custom-built athlete list.

Social media hub
Hosted on TeamUSA.org, the social media hub will provide fans with a single destination to follow the social media streams of their favorite athletes and teams, and engage in the conversations that will captivate Americans during the Sochi Winter Games.

You can follow the USOC on Twitter @USOlympic and Facebook/USOlympicTeam
