Samsung Supports Jamaican Bobsleigh Team to Push Toward Their Dreams at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games
Through financial support and a range of mobile devices, Samsung Electronics is helping sustain the Jamaican Bobsled team’s Olympic aspirations for Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. The Jamaicans, whose inspiring journey to the Calgary Games in 1988 was told in the film “Cool Runnings,” couldn’t train Wednesday because they arrived ahead of their luggage. Driver Winston Watts, 46, and his teammates got in their first two runs down the Sanki Sliding Center track Thursday.
The Opening Ceremony of the Games will be on Friday, February 7 and the competition for the 2 Men Bobsled team will take place on February 19 and 20. The 2014 Jamaica 2 Man Bobsled team delegation to Sochi is comprised of the following:
- Winston Watts – Driver (Twitter @WWatt4)
- Marvin Dixon – Crew
- Wayne Blackwood – Reserved Crew
- Thomas Samuel – Coach
- Nelson Christian Stokes – Chef de Mission
